Project Summary: Increase the visualization and notifications of the overdraft account, and when overdraft protection takes place. Notify the user when an overdraft protection transaction takes place. Provide quicker and easier access to view the overdraft account information and transactions.

The Challenge

Checking account holders with an overdraft line of credit required better transparency into their accounts. Previous versions showed the account information including interest charged on the account. Because interest would be charged the overdraft account and transactions needed to be more accessible.

The Solution

The broader team began with an adapted design sprint. We first aligned on the problem and on the requirements for the project. We spent several sessions brainstorming and completing ideation sketches of different mobile solutions to the problem. We voted on which ones we liked the best and decided to build a prototype to do some quick testing. After the testing we concluded that we had a viable solution and built the high fidelity wireframes for development.

The Results

After implementation complaints about the lack of transparency regarding the overdraft line of credit accounts subsided to zero.
